An extensive series of reports examining the funeral industry in Pennsylvania. Launched in August 2025, the reports centered around allegations against funeral director Patrick Vereb. Reported by 11 Investigates reporter Amy Hudak and edited by Ryan Minutello, I was a key part of producing the core series of reports.

Dangerous Pittsburgh Buildings
A major series of reports examining the state of condemned and falling-down homes across the City of Pittsburgh. I supported 11 Investigates reporter Jatara McGee with graphics, data journalism, and regular updates for the newsroom. Our reporting directly contributed to reforms of Pittsburgh’s permitting and demolition process, leading to an increase in city-funded demolitions.

Ticketing Trouble
An in-depth series of reports examining Automated School Bus Stop Arm Ticketing Programs. Billed as a way for school districts to enforce stop-arm laws, our reporting uncovered a convoluted system for fighting tickets, with recent reports exposing that the bulk of the revenue went to system administrators rather than school districts. Reported by 11 Investigates reporter Amy Hudak, I was heavily involved in breaking down the data behind the program.

Erie News Now Investigates: Inside The Money
What began as a simple question—what happened to Erie County’s CARES Act funding?—turned into my first full-blown investigation. Working with reporter (and later my Best Man) Ethan Kibbe, we pored through mountains of paperwork to track where money from the COVID-era stimulus went. Our investigation uncovered tight deadlines, loose rules, and an 11th-hour move by then-Executive Kathy Dahlkemper to shift funds right before the deadline without county council approval.
