Erie News Now Investigates: Inside The Money
What began as a simple question – what happened to Erie County’s CARES Act Funding – turned into my first full-blown investigation. Working with reporter (and later my Best Man) Ethan Kibbe, we pored through mountains of paperwork to track where money from the COVID-Era stimulus went. Our investigation uncovered tight deadlines, loose rules and an 11th hour move by then-executive Kathy Dahlkemper to move money around right before the funding deadline without approval of county council.
